We prepare and assist in the preparation of costs pleadings (usually bills of costs, points of dispute and replies) and provide clear, straightforward advice. We work closely with specialist costs counsel where the complexity of the issues warrants their involvement. We also represent clients or support advocacy at costs and case management hearings and detailed assessments.

We also assist clients with applications for security for costs, representation at costs mediations (and other forms of ADR) and preparation for costs awards in arbitral proceedings.

We regularly assist law firms and general counsel with the management and mitigation of adverse costs orders and assess their potential exposure to adverse costs when budgeting and provisioning.

We have considerable experience in assisting clients in this area, having for many years advised and represented law firms in detailed assessment proceedings.
